Dark Chocolate Almond Bark

Some desserts need a lot of tricks to feel indulgent. This one doesn't, it's just good dark chocolate and toasted almonds, and it tastes like something from a chocolate shop rather than a health food recipe.

The salt on top is doing a lot of work here, it makes the chocolate taste deeper and less sweet in the best way. Higher-percentage dark chocolate has meaningfully less sugar than milk chocolate, and here it's rich enough that you don't miss it.

Tips & swaps

  • Higher-percentage dark chocolate (70% or up) has less sugar than milk or semi-sweet, and tastes rich enough that you don't miss it.
  • Toast the almonds in a dry skillet over medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring often, until fragrant, this makes a real difference in flavor.
  • Keeps at room temperature in a cool spot for a week, or in the fridge for a month.
